Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Project Engineer, you will support the delivery of capital investment projects across the site, working closely with the Projects Manager and wider engineering team. Responsibilities include:

- Supporting CAPEX projects from concept through to commissioning and handover
- Coordinating installation of new equipment, production lines, and site infrastructure
- Working closely with contractors and equipment suppliers during project delivery
- Assisting with commissioning, testing, validation, and handover of new equipment
- Liaising with Production, Technical, Hygiene, and Engineering teams to ensure alignment
- Monitoring contractor performance, ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Supporting project planning, timelines, and budget tracking
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety, food safety, and site standards
- Minimising disruption to production during project implementation
- Identifying and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborating cross-functionally with teams including Commercial, NPD, Finance, and Leadership

Skills & Experience RequiredÂ
EssentialÂ
- Experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing, food production, or FMCG environment
- Exposure to project work, installations, or CAPEX-related activities
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external contractors
- Good knowledge of health & safety practices
Â
DesirableÂ
- Previous experience in a Project Engineer or similar role
- Experience supporting equipment installation and commissioning
- Engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, or similar)
- Knowledge of CDM regulations
- Experience using 2D AutoCAD
- Experience working with contractors and suppliers
- Exposure to automation or packaging equipment
- Bakery or food production experience (beneficial but not essential)
