Job Description
Global Security Specialist - Asia-based from Tokyo, this is not an expatriate role and paid on local terms. Japanese language is not required, but working proficiency in English is required.
We have a great opportunity. As a member of the Global Security & Crisis Management team, based out of the Tokyo office, the Global Security Specialist (Asia) will provide focused support to the GS mission across the Asia region. Duties will include, but will not be limited to
• Be the first point of contact for Global Security issues in the Asia region, particularly the Site Security Program, to include site security inspections, procedure reviews, systems support, advice and training
• Provide advice and support to stakeholders and sites to implement the Integrated Regional Access Control System across the Asia region. Act as a central point of contact for this initiative in the region
• Be the GS team’s subject matter expert (SME) on security threats in the region and maintain a strong awareness of regional geo-politics
• Assist with security investigation
• Be prepared to travel internationally, if necessary to conduct security assessments, inspections, executive protection support, investigations, and security support for trade and airshows
• Other duties as assigned
Essential Criteria
• A proven ability to communicate effectively both orally and in the written word
• Strong organisational skills, particularly working to tight time lines and under pressure
• The ability to work both proactively and reactively, sometimes outside of standard office hours when exigencies dictate
• An availability and willingness for international travel
• A strong team member who also has the adaptability and capability to work alone and unsupervised if required
• A basic understanding of both Threat and Risk and the ability to evidence working or decision-making using a risk-based approach
• A basic interest or understanding of current affairs and geopolitics influencing Asia
Desired criteria
• Physical security experience (both procedural and technical), particularly with Lenel OnGuard access control, intruder detection systems (IDS), and CCTV
• Experience working in or with a Crisis Management team and an understanding of Business Resilience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in related intelligence or international security analysis
• An international travel background is desired as a complement to the field of study
